Youth Group Bike Ride(Sunday 15th August 2010)
Our Youth Group invite you to join them on a Bike Ride and picnic at the Manifold Valley next Sunday, the feast of the Assumption, Sun 15th August. We’ll meet at 2.30pm at the Manifold Valley Track Cycle Hire Centre, Old Station Car Park, Earls Way, Waterhouses, ST10 3EG, have 3 hours on our bikes – or at the coffee shop a bit up from there! – then gather for a bit of food. There will be a bit of a Cardinal Newman treasure hunt on the bike ride! More will be revealed… if you have your own bikes, it’s all free, else it’s £6 to hire one for over 14s and £4 for those who are under. You’re welcome to come to just the bike ride or the picnic. Please take a sheet. We need numbers by this Sunday, if you want a bike hiring. It would help if you filled a sheet in even if you have your own bikes, just to help us have an idea of numbers. If you just want to arrive for the picnic, then I suggest meeting the rest of us around 5.45 – 6pm at the above cycle centre.
Our Lady & St Werburgh's Library – opening soon!
Soon, in the porch we are starting a little library. Margaret Wiles, another donor and myself have given the parish several books – some theology, mostly spiritual. There is a small catalogue that lists all the books and a sign out sheet where you simply put down your name and tel no, the book(s) you are taking out and the date you take them and then the date they are returned.. There is no time limit - or fines! – for borrowing, though if they are out for several weeks, you may get a phone call with a gentle reminder. Please do use it – it is important we nourish our faith throughout the week in this way.
